In February 2022, Maui County launched “MAUI NUI FIRST,” a community-wide, collaborative effort to support our small businesses on Maui, Moloka‘i and Lana‘i. The purpose of Maui Nui First is to strengthen our islands’ economy by encouraging residents and visitors to think, support, and buy from local businesses FIRST.

The Maui Nui First program is coordinated and supported by the County of Maui Office of Economic Development.

Resource and catalyst that leads, connects and mobilizes volunteers and volunteer agencies to contribute to a better life on Maui.

Hawaii Small Business Development Center - Maui

Small Business technical assistance provider offering no cost, 1-on-1 business advising and training.

Lahaina Arts Society

Presents art galleries, art fairs, and art guild charity.

LahainaTown Action Committee

Serves as a liaison between residents, businesses and other organizations who work together to maintain the historic district of Lahaina and West Maui.

Maui Economic Development Board

Working with businesses, government, educators, and community leaders to support the development of a robust and balanced economy that benefits the people of Maui County.

Maui Economic Opportunity, Inc.

Programs offered include preschool, transportation, rental/utility assistance, business support, kupuna/released inmate/farmworker assistance, youth drug/bullying/suicide prevention countywide.

Maui Food Technology Center

Supports entrepreneurs seeking to earn a living through value-added products, agriculture, cultural practices, environmental sustainability, technology and economic diversification.

Maui Hotel & Lodging Association

MHLA is a nonprofit organization founded in 1987 that provides government and community relations.

Maui Humane Society

Maui Humane Society is the island’s only open admission shelter, accepting all animals in need, caring for over 4400 animals/year.

Maui United Way

Maui United Way's mission is to bridge resources that enrich and empower Maui County's community.

Maui Visitors Bureau

Maui Visitors & Convention Bureau shares mālama messaging to Maui Nui travelers about connecting with the community and supporting local.

Small Town * Big Art

County of Maui Creative Placemaking Program connecting Wailuku art, culture, history and community

Wailuku Community Association

Aims to represent the concerns impacting the Wailuku community and provides a platform to brainstorm solutions to better serve our district.
